What's included?
- Fishing permits for taimen and small fish. The permit costs $450.
- Guided days to the fishing areas. It’s important to note that the guides know the fishing areas, but they aren’t fishing guides, they’ll be in charge of dropping us off and picking us up by the river.
- For groups of 6 people (adaptable based on the number of guests): 2 drivers – guides (not fishing guides) and a cook. A Russian van will be used to transport the tourists and a trailer for materials. The guides will take care of the logistics and the cook of the meals.
- Accommodations in which you’ll stay throughout the trip: 1 night in a hotel in Mörön including breakfast (night of the day of arrival) and 4 nights in traveling camps at the foot of the river.
- All breakfasts, lunches, and dinners from arrival to departure in Mörön.
- Traveling camp logistics: 2 large tarps (one for cooking and one for eating in case of rain), good quality tents, sleeping bags (serving as backups in case of extreme cold), mats, tables, chairs, a generator, a freezer to preserve food, drinking water bottles, portable showers, a generator kitchen for charging and lighting, and a shower tarp.

The fisherman who wants to make this trip must arrive at the Mörön airport, where we’ll pick them up and where ground transportation services begin. It’s important to note that the Mörön airport has daily flights connecting it with Ulan Bator:
- Welcome at the Mörön airport. From there we’ll transfer you to a hotel in this small town.
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- After which we’ll have a 4-hour journey by vehicle to transfer you from Mörön to a small river with crystal-clear waters. We’ll fish for lenok and grayling in this small river. We’ll eat and fish there all afternoon.
- We’ll have dinner and rest in the traveling camp previously set up by the guides.
In these 3 days of fishing, we’ll fish in a small tributary river (on day 2) and in a larger main river where it’s possible to capture the aggressive taimen / river wolf.
The daily routine will be as follows:
- Breakfast at the traveling camp at the foot of the river and a 15-minute transfer to the fishing area.
- Lunch at the camp with the guides, cooks, and the rest of the team.
- We’ll have dinner and rest in the traveling camp previously set up by the guides.
- Breakfast at the traveling camp at the foot of the river and transfer to Mörön. End of ground transportation services.
What to expect from our guided fishing trip in the Hövsgöl region?
This express trip through the best rivers in the province of Hövsgöl start from Mörön; where you’ll arrive at the airport with frequent flights from Ulan Bator.
On this trip, we’ve tried to give you a global vision of the possibilities that Mongolia offers for fly-fishing. For this, we’ve selected 2 different settings with possibilities to fish Asian trout or lenok and grayling:
- River 1: a medium-small river characterized by its crystalline waters and the possibility of capturing many medium-large lenok fish with dry flies and mice imitations.
- River 2: the main river that collects the waters of tributary river number 1. In this river, in addition to lenok and grayling, you’ll have the possibility of trying to capture some large taimen.
This trip is a safe trip and it doesn’t require a great physical condition and all the fishing areas are close to an area with coverage and access by vehicle. In addition to security, we want it to be a trip in which you have the opportunity to interact with the nomadic shepherds and visit their yurts and migratory cattle.
What are the traveling camps like?
We have two types of camps and logistics adapted to the size of the group of fishermen who visit us.
For groups of 6 people, our traveling camps include the following:
- Two large tarps (one to cook and another to eat in case of rain).
- High quality tents.
- Enough sleeping bags to keep you warm in extreme cold.
- Tables and chairs to enjoy meals and rest.
- A generator.
- A freezer to preserve food.
- Drinking water bottles.
- A kitchen generator for charging and lighting.
- A tarp with a portable shower.
As you can see, our basic traveling camp doesn’t include great luxuries, but our guides will be available to mount and dismount the camp in each fishing area. In addition, they will oversee transporting the fishermen using vehicles both in the morning and in the afternoon. Our cooks and guides will take care of all the logistics, allowing fishermen to enjoy the fishing itself!
We consider this type of camping to be authentic and adventurous, ideal for enjoying an unforgettable family trip!
On the other hand, for small groups of 1 or 2 people, our traveling camps are simpler, but we can adapt them to the needs of our guests according to the price of the trip. Generally, our small group tours include:
