On this 11-day fly fishing trip (8 days of fishing), you will explore the Hövsgöl province. Anglers will have the chance to fish for lenok and grayling with large dry flies, and possibly even catch the Taimen. This adventure alternates between nomadic riverside camps and cabin camps, where you will enjoy fishing in three different, breathtakingly beautiful rivers that are in an exceptional state of preservation. The trip includes all land services from your arrival in Mongolia, including domestic flights or transfers between Ulaanbaatar and Moron

What's included?
- All transfers from your arrival at the airport of the capital of Mongolia.
- Domestic flight between Ulan Bator and Mörön. Round trip.
- Border permits required by the army to gain access to restricted access areas.
- Guided days to the fishing areas. It’s important to note that the guides know the fishing areas, but they aren’t fishing guides, they’ll be in charge of dropping us off and picking us up by the river.
- For groups of 6 people (adaptable based on the number of guests): 1 4x4 off-road vehicle with a trailer and 1 Russian van. Support team: 1 cook, 1 assistant cook, 1 tent builder, and 1 fly fishing guide (Miguel Hellín).
- Accommodations: one night in a hotel in Murun; two nights in a campsite with beds and showers by the river; the remaining nights in tent camps by the river; and one night in a hotel in Ulaanbaatar before the return.
- All meals from departure until arrival in Ulaanbaatar.
- A personal SIM card for making calls in Mongolia.
- Traveling camp logistics: 2 large tarps (one for cooking and one for eating in case of rain), good quality tents, sleeping bags (serving as backups in case of extreme cold), mats, tables, chairs, a generator, a freezer to preserve food, bottles of drinking water, a kitchen generator for charging and lighting and a portable shower tent.

- Fishing gear and flies aren’t included or rented. The fisherman must travel with their own fishing gear.
- The cost of permits is $150 for those who only wish to fish for Lenok and grayling, and $400 for those who, in addition to the previous species, want to fish for Taimen. We also offer a fishing permit processing service, which is included in the price.

Itinerary:
The angler will need to travel from their home country to Ulaanbaatar Airport, the capital of Mongolia. Once there, we will take a domestic flight to Morön. At Ulaanbaatar Airport, a member of the local team will meet us and assist with the flight connection. This domestic flight is included in the price.
Arrival by flight from Moscow to Ulaanbaatar (the flight arrives in the morning). That same morning, we will fly from Ulaanbaatar to Morön. Upon arrival in Morön, the guides will meet us and request our physical passports to report our entry to the border guards. Then, we will transfer from Morön to the “Edelweis” river, which will take about 4 hours. This first day will be quite intense.
Upon arrival, the guides and camp staff will set up the camp and prepare dinner before we retire for the night.
We will sleep and eat in tents and camping shelters.
We will wake up at the camp by the “Edelweis” river (a mountain river, medium-small in size, with exceptional populations of lenok and grayling. These Asian trout aggressively strike large terrestrial insects and mice). We will have a hearty breakfast, and the guides will divide us up along the river. We will spend the entire morning and afternoon fishing, with a break at midday to have lunch at the camp.
We will sleep and eat every day at the base camp, by the river, in tents and camping shelters (see video).
The logistics of distributing the anglers, as well as camp setup and meal preparation, will be handled by the guides. Each of the 3 fishing days will take place in different stretches of the river.
Fishing on the “Edelweis” river during the third day, while the guide team packs up the camp. We will have lunch, and after the meal, we will travel to the new camp, where we will sleep in comfortable beds, with showers and good facilities.
The afternoon journey offers spectacular landscapes. This camp is located by a river with a healthy population of grayling and the possibility of catching lenok and taimen.
On this fifth day of the trip, we will fish in a medium-sized, beautifully scenic river with a healthy population of grayling. Fishing will be done with smaller flies, although grasshoppers also work very well. It is a river where you need to walk to find the fish feeding on the surface. In some pools, when the fish are active, you can see more than 20 grayling feeding right beside you.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served in the comfortable camp facilities, which include showers and beds.
On this sixth day of the trip, we will wake up early and travel back to the “Edelweis” river, specifically to its middle section, which we haven’t fished on previous days. There, we will have lunch and, in the afternoon, fish while the rest of the team sets up the camp.
This night, we will sleep in a riverside camp, with tents set up by the river.
We will wake up at the riverside camp, have breakfast, and enjoy a morning of fishing while Turun and his team pack up the camp. After lunch, we will begin the journey to the “River Wolves” river. Once we arrive, a new camp will be set up, the last one of the trip, in a place of stunning beauty.
A day of fishing on the “River Wolves” river, where we will have the chance to catch lenok, grayling, and even taimen. The fish are located in the currents leading into the pools and bite on large terrestrial flies.
Fishing in the morning and then returning to Morön. We will spend the night in a comfortable hotel.
The guides will take us from the hotel to Morön Airport, where we will catch a flight to Ulaanbaatar.
In Ulaanbaatar, a guide will be waiting to take us to the hotel. Occasionally, if there is no convenient flight connection, the transfer will be by taxi from Morön to Ulaanbaatar. Both options are included in the price.

What to expect from our guided lenok and taimen fishing trip?
Our guided fly fishing trip in the Hövsgöl region begins in Ulaanbaatar, where our guides will pick us up at the airport and take us to Mörön. This trip combines fishing for Asian trout, also known as lenok, using large dry flies in small rivers with crystal-clear waters. It is a journey without great luxuries but with the necessary logistics and equipment to provide the best service.
Safety is one of our top priorities. The fishing locations are situated at a safe distance from Mörön and other towns with nearby hospitals. We never fish in remote areas that require access by horse, as all the fishing spots on this trip are accessible by 4×4 vehicle. This is one of the reasons why all our trips are done on foot rather than by floating. Additionally, we believe that fishing is more enjoyable this way.
The trip will be adapted to the flow of the rivers and the weather conditions. As a general rule, we will fish the following types of rivers during the trip:
A small, crystal-clear river with lenok and grayling, where it’s possible to catch over 20 fish in a day using large dry flies and mice.
We will fish in 2 medium-sized rivers with large pools containing taimen, lenok, and grayling. However, it’s important to note that this is not primarily a taimen fishing trip. This is a dry fly fishing trip for lenok and grayling, with the possibility of catching taimen.
Finally, while our trips are centered around fishing, we also enjoy having our guests interact with the local population and learn about their way of life and traditions. Therefore, along the way, we will make stops to visit yurts or observe the work of nomadic herders.

What are our traveling camps like?
We have two types of camps and logistics depending on the size of the group of fishermen.
CAMP FOR GROUPS OF 6 PEOPLE
Our traveling camps have the following logistics and are made up of the following equipment:
- 2 large tarps (one to cook and another to eat in case of rain).
- Good quality tents.
- Sleeping bags (serving as backups in case of extreme cold).
- Tables and chairs.
- A generator.
- A freezer to preserve food.
- Drinking water bottles.
- A kitchen generator for charging and lighting.
- A tarp with a portable shower.
As you can see, it’s a basic traveling camp without great luxuries. The guides will mount and dismount them when we change from one fishing area to another.
This camp will always be located next to the river and the guides will oversee dropping off the fishermen using the vehicles both in the morning and in the afternoon.
Cooks and guides will take care of all the logistics while you enjoy fishing!

CAMP FOR GROUPS OF 1 OR 2 PEOPLE
Our traveling camps for small groups are more austere than the camps carried out for larger groups. Despite this, we can adapt our camps and the staff working there based on the demands of our guests making the pricing of the trip vary.
As a general rule, these trips have the following logistics and staff:
- 1 guide and 1 cook – who manage the camp.
- Good quality tents.
- Sleeping bags (serving as backups in case of extreme cold).
- Tables and chairs.
- A generator set.
- A freezer to preserve food.
- Drinking water bottles.
- A kitchen generator for charging and lighting.
As you can see, this is a basic traveling camp without great luxuries. The guides will mount and dismount them when we change from one fishing area to another.
This camp will always be located next to the river and you’ll always have a guide who will accompany you to the fishing areas.

What weather can I expect?
The climate is predominantly cold. During the winter months, temperatures rarely reach positive values, with highs remaining well below freezing.
The best months to travel are June, July, August, and in some years, the first week of September, when the temperatures are warmer. Both April and September tend to be colder months.
Additionally, the climate is quite dry. Although the rainiest months are also the hottest, the amount of precipitation is still low. For example, in August, the average rainfall is 50 mm, while in a town in the Spanish Pyrenees, it typically receives around 150 mm during the same month.
This shows that, even though these are the rainiest months, the region remains quite arid. Therefore, it’s recommended to bring a variety of clothing, similar to what you would wear in a summer in Spain, but also be prepared for cooler, autumn-like days that may require warm layers and a rain jacket.
Will I have phone coverage and internet access during the trip?
On the first day in Murün, the fly fishing guides team, led by Turun, will provide you with a phone card. This card will allow you to contact your family through WhatsApp and make phone calls via this social network.
We will have secure coverage on the following days: 1, 2 (in the morning), 4, and 7, but only at specific points. Additionally, we will have coverage on days 10, 11, and 12.
Travel Insurance:
We reiterate the importance of all travelers having insurance that includes:
Cancellation: Occasionally, the trip may be affected by unforeseen circumstances, such as illnesses. If the deadline indicated in the trip details has passed and this insurance is not in place, the following conditions will apply:
- Cancellations made less than 60 days before arrival: 100% of the reservation amount will be lost, which represents the total cost of the trip, unless a replacement is found.
- Cancellations made more than 60 days before arrival: 50% of the reservation amount will be lost, equivalent to 50% of the total cost of the trip, if a replacement is not found. The remaining 50%, if paid, will be refunded or can be applied towards future trips.
Medical Assistance Insurance including repatriation: It is important to note that medical expenses abroad can be very high.
Once you have processed your insurance, we recommend that you send us a copy so that we have it on hand in case of any unforeseen issues that may arise.
